How do I trigger challenges to unlock when other challenges are completed?
Use Quests when you want one set of challenges to unlock after a team completes another set.
Each quest is made of ordered levels. Teams start with Level 1. When a team completes enough challenges in that level, the next level unlocks for that team and its challenges become available in the app.
This is useful for scavenger hunts, clue paths, checkpoints, progressive team-building activities, sponsor passports, and any event where players should discover the next objective only after making progress.
Basic Setup
- Create the challenges you want to use in your event.
- Open your event in Thrillify Backstage.
- Switch to Edit mode.
- Open Quests.
- Create a quest.
- Add Level 1 and choose the challenges teams should see first.
- Set how many Level 1 challenges teams must complete.
- Add Level 2 and choose the challenges that should unlock next.
- Add any additional levels in order.
For example, you can put five challenges in Level 1 and require teams to complete any three. Once a team completes three of those five challenges, Level 2 unlocks for that team.
What Players See
Players see available quests in the app’s Challenges -> Quests tab.
At first, teams see the quest’s starting level. As they complete enough challenges, the next level unlocks and those new challenges appear in the quest and challenge list.
Quest progress is team-based. If one team unlocks Level 2, that does not automatically unlock Level 2 for every other team. Each team advances based on its own completed challenges.
Things to Know
- A challenge can belong to one quest level at a time.
- A level must include at least as many challenges as the number required to complete it.
- Use a lower completion requirement, like 3 of 5, when you want teams to choose their own path.
- Use an all-required level, like 3 of 3, when every challenge in that stage must be completed.
- You can make the quest visible immediately, keep it disabled while building, or schedule it to unlock later.
