Dragon Con 2025 Challenge Hunt Results

Wow. What a weekend!
Our first ever Unofficial Dragon Con Challenge Hunt was a huge success, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout. Dozens of teams, over 1500 challenge submissions, and thousands of points later—we’re thrilled to share the results from the game!

  • Credit to the awesome group photo shot above by the gothsloth3k on the Frontyardigans team!

Highlights from the Hunt

From celebrity sightings to a team that recorded a hilarious video for the Marriott Elevator Weirdo challenge (thank you to Anna and the entire TheBiggestBoozers team for so many amazing and hilarious video submissions!), the creativity this year was off the charts.

Here are just a small subset of the memorable submissions. Follow us on Instagram and X/Twitter if you want to see more, because I’ll eventually be posting more highlights from the event!

Sorry if we missed yours, you had to opt in on the Monday survey to be included! If you participated and you are ok with us sharing your challenge submissions, please email us at hello@thrillify.com!

Two players clinking coffee mugs, one with glowing neon jacket trim and the other rocking purple fox ears.

Challenge: Day 2 cheers

Timberly and I are ready for Day 2 of Dragon Con, and nothing says “ready for the Friday con grind” like raising your mug with a shot of rum in the morning!

We wish we could have met everyone who participated in the Thrillify Challenge Hunt this weekend. Maybe next year we’ll make it easier to meet up for those who want to!

Player cosplaying as Princess Donut posing with Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Challenge: Find a celebrity

Props to Ariel from Coast to Coast for finding a celebrity (author of Dungeon Crawler Carl Matt Dinniman!) and getting this epic photo… while dressed as Princess Donut!

Players posing with 2 cosplayers dressed as Gandalf

Challenge: Find Gandalf

Found not one, but two Gandalfs. Truly, we’ve unlocked the secret expansion pack: The Fellowship of Too Many Wizards.

A player attempting to drink water with both hands intentionally very awkwardly.

Challenge: Drink a water extremely awkwardly with two hands

Awesome picture, and very awkward!! Challenge accomplished!

Two players crouching dramatically at the Trashy Memorial, dressed in colorful animal onesies.

Challenge: Find the Trashy Memorial

I thought this one might be hard to find, but team YELLING found it right away on the first day!

Two players posing victoriously in front of a glowing arcade cabinet, one flashing the peace sign like they've just conquered the galaxy.

Challenge: Beat someone at an arcade game

There’s various arcades that you can find scattered throughout Dragon Con, one of our favorite things to periodically hit up throughout the con.

Nothing says bragging rights like defeating your con buddy in 16-bit glory.

A cosplayer dressed as Charlie from It's Always Sunny, frantically gesturing at a conspiracy board plastered with the words 'PEPE SILVIA'.

Challenge: Find Charlie the Pepe Silvia detective

He has the evidence, the red string, and the caffeine jitters. Pepe Silvia never stood a chance! And we saw at least 3 different Charlie cosplayers this year!

A close-up shot of neon glow sticks intertwined against a dark backdrop, looking like abstract modern art at a rave.

Challenge: Create an artsy photo

Who needs Picasso when you’ve got glow sticks and spooky lighting?

I really loved checking out everyone’s artsy photo submissions this year!

A Gryffindor cosplayer riding a hoverboard like it’s a broomstick, wand at the ready.

Challenge: Find a Hogwarts student

This one was actually a timed challenge, which we had scattered throughout the hunt. Teams only had 20 minutes starting at 3PM to find a Hogwarts student. This turned out to be much harder for us than we thought. We cut it super close, we didn’t think we were going to make it!

A lively Hilton panel packed with colorful puppet characters held up by their human handlers.

Challenge: Attend a panel at the Hilton

Where else can you sit in a room full of puppetteers and not feel out of place?

A cosplayer dressed as Sailor Moon striking a peace pose, alongside another cosplayer smiling proudly for the selfie.

Challenge: Find Sailor Moon

In the name of the moon, she will… grant you 25 points and a perfect selfie!

Two players grinning wildly, one dressed in bright red with a chunky gold chain, the other sticking their tongue out like they're about to headline the dance floor.

Challenge: Find a party storm trooper

Clearly, the Empire has a nightlife division we never knew about!

Someone standing next to a tower of bottles and cupes they've stacked on a table.

Challenge: Make a beer or non alcoholic drink can tower, the taller the better

Throughout the con we created a few challenges to ask other players to suggest their own challenges. We then added most of those challenges to the hunt throughout the weekend.

This was one of those challenges, and the Frontyardigans team absolutely crushed it with this tower of cups and bottles!

Two nearly identical Jack Sparrows standing side by side, looking like a glitch in the pirate matrix.

Challenge: Find your doppelganger

When your clone shows up to the rum party and you’re not sure who’s going to steal the ship…

You can usually find our friend Roman dressed as Jack Sparrow at Dragon Con. We’ll definitely be seeing him and more Jack Sparrow challenges next year I’m sure!

A Dragon Con badge with multiple colorful ribbons attached, proudly showing off the Thrillify ribbon at the bottom.

Challenge: Get the Thrillify badge ribbon

We were handing these Ribbons out and placing them down in random places throughout the con. If you found one, you could take a selfie with it and earn points for your team but we knew it was going to be tough for teams to find.

Surprisingly, we had 6 different teams get one of our ribbons this year!

Funny story—our friends picked up their badges on Sunday and handed a Thrillify ribbon to the staffer checking them in. Turns out, she was actually on the Frontyardigans team and sitting in 3rd place! Small world!

🏆 Challenge Hunt Results

What an incredible run this year! The competition was fierce, but a few teams stood out and battled their way to the very top. Here’s how the leaderboard shook out:

🥇 1st Place – Coast to Coast

With an unstoppable pace and a whopping 9,836 points across 257 submissions, Coast to Coast claimed the crown. Their consistency and sheer volume of completed challenges set them apart from the very beginning, and they never let up.

🥈 2nd Place – GG & A Bottle of Josh

Close behind, GG & A Bottle of Josh racked up 7,214 points from 221 submissions. Their clever approach to photo and video challenges kept them near the top all weekend long, making them a constant threat for first place.

🥉 3rd Place – The Frontyardigans

Sliding into third with 6,561 points on 176 submissions, The Frontyardigans made their mark with some of the most creative entries we saw. They made 3rd place and they only had 3 players, which is crazy impressive! They may not have taken the crown, but they definitely captured the spirit of the hunt.

🎖 Honorable Mentions

A few teams just missed the podium but deserve major recognition:

  • TheBiggestBoozers – 4,978 points with a breakout day that turned heads. This team submitted some of the funniest video challenges we saw all weekend!
  • Han and Leia at a Tequila Bar – 4,825 points fueled by blasters, banter, and bottomless margaritas. We created the hunt.. but we just couldn’t make the finals!
  • YELLING – 4,494 points, proving volume can be a strategy too! This team was smashing challenges right at the very start of the con! I loved seeing all their photos and energy throughout the weekend.
  • ATL TimeLeft Crew – 4,425 points, proving there’s always con time left for one more challenge. This team was killing it from day 1!
  • F Mech-ina – 3,830 points, had some really great photo submissions, and hey.. I know these guys! I have a feeling they are going to have some really amazing cosplays next year so be on the lookout!
  • Ones the Loneliness Number! – 2,295 points, the only team with 1 player that made the top 10!! Way to go!

Challenges Over Time

Players were submitting challenges around the clock from the very opening of the con (when I was still sitting on my couch at home!) to the very final 10 minutes. You all kept the momentum going the entire time!

Individual Player Rankings

To win the Thrillify Event, the team with the most points wins.. but we also want to recognize the top individual players who went above and beyond.

🥇 gothsloth3k
5,290 points · 130 submissions
The most submissions and points earned by an individual player in the entire hunt! She even submitted a final challenge in the last 10 minutes of the event! I must say.. her video of a cosplay dance performance with the dancing shark was amazing!

🥈 Ariel
4,475 points · 98 submissions
Anchored their team with consistent play and steady scoring that helped them clinch the overall win! I’m currently on Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 4 so Ariel finding Matt Dinniman while dressed as Princess Donut was my personal highlight of the entire event.

🥉 Anna
3,298 points · 69 submissions
Had some of the best video submissions of the entire hunt, bringing humor and originality to every challenge. If you were a part of the hunt and didn’t see them yet, I would highly recommend checking them out in the app!

Together, these three set the pace for the event and pushed everyone else to keep the challenges coming.

Honorable mentions go out to Misty Auld and RiRiYells, who rounded out the top five. Thank you to all the players who joined in and kept the hunt fun from start to finish!

Thank You!

Thank you again to everyone who joined in, submitted challenges, and spread the fun.
This event reminded us why we love Dragon Con—because it’s not just about panels or costumes, but about shared experiences and a bit of chaos.

We’ll see you all again next year with an even bigger and better Challenge Hunt with all kinds of new features!
Until then: Challenge Accepted!
