Creating a video challenge

Video challenges are a great way to get players moving, acting things out, or capturing dynamic moments during your event. Whether it’s performing a skit, showing off a dance move, or reenacting a scene, video challenges encourage energy and creativity.

Follow these steps to create a video challenge in Thrillify:

1. Add a new challenge

In the Thrillify Backstage web portal, go to the Challenges tab while editing your Event. Click Add -> New.

You’ll see a form like this:

2. Fill in the challenge details

• Name: Choose a clear and fun title that describes the challenge, players will see this in the challenges list.
• Description: Explain what players need to do in the video. Be specific but leave room for creative interpretation. Players will see this in the app when they view the challenge.
• Challenge Type: Select Video Challenge from the dropdown.
• Points: Assign a point value based on effort or difficulty.
• External ID (optional): Use this field if you’re integrating with external tools or spreadsheets. This field will be automatically filled in when importing challenges or copying an Event template.
• Labels: Use labels like “Dance”, “Funny”, or “Action” to help categorize and find challenges later.

Click Save once you’re finished.

What do video challenges look like in the app?

Once the challenge is added to your event, players will see it in the app like this:

Players can tap the challenge, record or upload a short video (30 seconds or less), and submit it to earn points for their team.
