This Year, Everyone’s Invited
For years, our friend group has been running our own unofficial scavenger hunts at Dragon Con. What started as a list of challenges printed out on sheets of paper, turned into one of the things we look forward to most every year.
We’ve done all kinds of fun challenges over the years, from convincing a group of 3 people cosplaying as Spider Man to recreate the infamous pointing meme, to late-night conga lines, to puzzle runs that had us sprinting across hotels to find something specific. It became our tradition.
This year, we’re opening it up to everyone because everything is more fun at Dragon Con when you involve those around you and make it a shared experience.
The Unofficial Dragon Con 2025 Challenge Hunt
We’re hosting our scavenger/challenge hunt publicly for the first time, using Thrillify, the app we built to make running these games way more fun. This Event is completely free to join, open all weekend, and packed with the kinds of challenges we’ve been doing for years.
Play solo or team up with friends. As you complete challenges, you’ll earn points and climb the live leaderboards. Scroll the submission feed to catch the funniest, weirdest, and most creative challenges in action.
You’ll find a mix of:
Photo challenges
Track down cosplayers, recreate memes, collect ribbons. Snap a picture and earn points.
Video challenges
Start a dance line, film a crossover scene, capture chaotic con moments.
Trivia and text challenges
Prove your fandom knowledge or crack a riddle
GPS Location check-in challenges
Hit the Check In button when you’ve found the right spot to score points. Some check-ins will be obvious, while others hide behind a clue or puzzle you’ll need to solve first.
Timed challenges
Short windows to complete a set of challenges before they disappear. Sure, finding a spider man cosplay is usually pretty easy, but can you do it in 20 minutes?

If you have a challenge you want to see in the event, email hello@thrillify.com. If it fits the weekend and stays respectful and safe, we’ll work it in and give you credit in the app (if you would like).
